In very good condition

This NORDMENDE GALAXY mesa 9000 is made in Western-Germany in 1972 and it is technically and optically in really good condition, with only very small use traces.  It’s very hard to find a second by this shape. The radio is absolutely clean and free of grease or nicotine residues.

 The radio was in bad condition when I got it, but I got it technically and optically back in great condition. The side panels on the radio were scratched. (See penultimate photo) I removed this and took it to a varnisher, the result was great. A matte black finish goes great with the radio. I also changed all the fuses, replaced the dial lights, connected a new power cable and replaced some weak capacitors. (Last photo) Now the radio works very well again. All chrome parts and the antennas are in absolutely great condition. There is a very minor crack under the on/off switch.

This solid and heavy Radio with his combination from chrome, aluminium and the green station scale is a very big eye catcher. All inscriptions on the scale and all other inscriptions on the radio are present and clear. All knobs and pushbuttons are shining as new and work good. The tuning and battery indicator works perfect

The tuning of all bands is smooth-running and exact. The receipt on all bands is very good, especially on FM.

This NORDMENDE GALAXY mesa 9000 has following bands:

FM        up to   108 MHz

LW        150 kHz  -  400 kHz

MW       530 kHz  -  1600 kHz

SW1      1.6  -   4.5 MHz     75-160 m band

SW2      5.0 -   12.0 MHz    25-60 m band

SW3      12.2  -  18.0 MHz   16-25 m band

!! And 11 SW spread bands from 10 – 80 m!!

This radio has a lot of futures:

FM and AM external aerials

Tape recorder / CD player

 External loudspeakers

DC 12-16 volt

This Radio has two telescopic aerials, one 125 cm long static aerial and one 90 cm long with hinge. The aerials are in 100% working condition with excellent chrome shining and very smooth handling. A new Euro - US adapter for the power cable is attending.

The sound from the high quality loudspeaker is excellent; loud, clear and full of high tones and basses. It’s a pleasure to listen this radio!

The radio has following dimensions: wide 19, 30", high 10, 65", and deep 4.75".

The radio play’s with 6 batteries in type D, with an external 12-16 volt power adaptor or over the normal power cord by 110/220 volt.

This radio is many years old and has normal very small use traces.

The NORDMENDE GALAXY mesa 9000 is a very solid built radio that will works for the next long time!
